Day 15: Zion to the Grand Canyon

Matt has been the real hero of this trip. He has done the majority of the driving (which is not easy through the mountains!), emptied our garbage and grey water tanks every time, and done many of the hook ups and break downs. More importantly, as problems have come up he has done the YouTube research and worked hard to fix them.

Today was no different, as he let me take Maggie back to Zion by bike this morning so he could work on the septic and water heater problems (which also turned out to be broken). We have discovered dozens of problems with this RV that the dealership clearly covered up and although it’s really disappointing and pretty stressful, we’re just so thankful God has kept us safe and having a wonderful time so far.

Today we packed it up and hit the road to the Grand Canyon! We arrived in late evening, catching our first breathtaking view of the canyon just before sunset. My, is it vast! We took a short hike to an Ecumenical church and cemetery (can you imagine being buried there?) before having dinner and ice cream cones under the stars.
