We’re halfway through our trip and have seen SO many places - what a blessing! But we’re all quite tried of being so on-the-go (and are very weary of all this RV trouble) so decided to spend our second day near Yosemite sticking around our campground. It was nestled in the Sierra National Forest on a recreational lake called Bass Lake (which is a stone’s throw from California’s geographical midpoint). What a terrific day! We slept in, ate a yummy breakfast, and spent the morning on the beach at the lake (a short walk from our campsite). The wind was perfect for flying the new kite we got Maggie from the National Parks.
After lunch at the RV, Maggie took her first, much-needed rest time since we left home while Matt took an 8 mile hike up Goat Mountain and I cleaned the RV. Then Maggie and I took bikes back to the lake; that girl could live in sand! Back to the RV for fire-roasted veggie burgers, local beer, and s’mores while playing games. What a delightful day.
